People who have access to edit client information can also import clients from Excel & CSV files. This can be done by clicking 'Add Client' from the bottom of the client list, and then clicking 'Import from file' at the top right of the screen.
The first row in the file should contain the column names, as detailed below.
Following this should be a list of people to be imported, with one line per person.
The following fields are imported into the system;
- Client
- Reference No
- Address
- Address line 2
- City
- State
- Phone
- Fax
A client's ID number can also be used to update existing clients, along with a clients name - the following fields can be used;
- ID (this referrs to the internal ID number within the VTEvents system)
- Client
Client Contacts
Client contacts can also be imported at the same time as clients, generally by specifying them as additional fields in the Excel / CSV document.
The following fields should be used;
- Contact - name
- This represents the contact's full name
- First name
- Optional - this can be used in place of a contact's full name, along with the last name below
- Last name
- Optional - this can be used in place of a contact's full name, along with the first name above
- Phone
- Mobile Phone
