Recognising equivalent skills/qualifications

In the instance there are skills/qualifications you would like to recognise as being equivalent, these can be setup the the system, by listing them in the ‘Equivalent skills/qualifications’ box.

Note: that by holding an equivalent skills/qualification, any additional requirements or criteria will be deemed to have been met within the equivalent skills/qualification (see example 2 below).

By setting up an equivalent skills/qualification (eg. in the ‘Drivers Licence (Car)' example below), the person won’t have the ‘Drivers Licence (Car)’ shown as something they have obtained in their list of skills/qualifications, but rather it will be recognised when checking required skills/qualifications has been met for rostering, other skills/qualifications, etc.

Example 1

To recognise that an overseas drivers licence can be used in-place of a state-based drivers licence, it can be entered as follows (within the state-based drivers licence entry);

The result of this will be that when skills/qualifications are required for certain rostering positions, etc, the fact that you hold a current Overseas Drivers Licence will mean your requirement for a “Drivers Licence (Car)” will be satisfied, even if you do not directly have that skill/qualification.

Example 2

In the following example, the ‘Drivers Licence (Car)’ also requires the person to pass a ‘Hazard Perception Test’ as a pre-requisite.

Equivalent qualifications & Additional skills/qualifications / criteria

Equivalent qualifications however do not factor in any additional skills/qualifications or criteria which might be setup in the ‘Drivers Licence (Car)’ licence - the equivalent qualifications (eg. ‘Overseas Drivers Licence’) are expected to have their own requirements (eg. the ‘Overseas Drivers Licence’ might instead have other prerequisites which are imposed).

In this instance, if the ‘Hazard Perception Test’ should also be checked for ‘Overseas Drivers’ licences, the ‘Overseas Drivers Licence’ should be setup with the ‘Hazard Perception Test’ as one of it’s required skills/qualifications.
